TC Media invests in PIX-E5 on September 1, 2015 | Marketing Team TC Media has become the first company in the Middle East to invest in Video Devices' PIX-E Series of 4K recorders with the purchase of a PIX-E5 with a 240GB SpeedDrive. The sale was made through the manufacturer's local distributor, Nicolas M Kyvernitis Electronics Enterprises (NMK). New range of 4K recorders includes PIX-E5, PIX-E7 and PIX-E5H and were showcased by the manufacturer at NAB show earlier this year. PIX-E5 has both HDMI and SDI inputs and outputs and records up to ProRes 4444 XQ. The PIX-E7 can also record up to ProRes 4444 XQ. The PIX-E5H can only record via a HDMI input and up to ProRes HQ. Video Devices claims that the 4K-compatible PIX-E Series are the first on-camera monitors to offer the full range of Apple ProRes codecs including the highest quality Apple ProRes 4444 XQ, the latest 12-bit Apple codec designed to preserve the detail in wide dynamic range imagery captured by high performance digital image sensors. TC Media is the two man team of Tim Crawford and Andrew Green. The company specialises in motorsport cinematography and is based in the UK and UAE. TC Media also offers videography services to companies looking to promote products or events. 'The PIX-E5 is strong! Unlike other recorder monitors this unit could take a drop or a bash and still work, others are very plastic in feel and are known to be fragile,' said Mr Green. 'When you spend a huge amount of cash on pro gear you expect it to last and I am sure the PIX-E5 will do that. The product is great and the after service from the developers is fantastic. New updates are coming every week with a Facebook page set up just for users' inputs for improvements.' https://vimeo.com/137862799
